Written Communications
We are highly experienced in producing many forms of writing from website text to magazine articles to newsletters to blogs, books, press releases and more. Each project is presented as an extension of the unique voice of our client that is concisely delivered to capture their audience's attention and inspire action. Here are a few very brief case studies of our written work.
Writing for Websites
Robinlee Garber is a singer-songwriter who is building a strong following within the folk community. When she developed her first professional website, she was stymied about how to write about herself – particularly her obligatory bio. She approached Marla from Vegan Street Media, with whom she had worked on several vegan projects. Marla was able to take Robinlee's attributes and accolades and weave them into an intimate portrait that gave visitors a sense of the artist and her musical influences. See Robinlee's website and hear her wonderful music here. Writing for the Media
VegNews is the most popular and influential magazine in the vegan world. While they are best known for presenting vegan culture, products, travel destinations, recipes and people, they aren't shy about producing stories about more hard-hitting topics. Marla from Vegan Street Media is a frequent contributor to their magazine and their website, and has written many features and lots of smaller pieces for them, including the four stories shown above (click on the image of each one to reach the corresponding article). For several years, Marla even wrote an advice column called "Ask Marla". She has also written articles for Eater.com and has written for several other magazines, newspapers, blogs and websites. She regularly publishes new essays on her Medium site as well as a blog at VeganStreet.com. |
Newsletter Writing and Production
Vegan Street Media can write, design and maintain an engaging, comprehensive and eye-catching newsletter for you that will keep your followers informed, entertained and motivated. Running a farmed animal sanctuary, especially one that cares for injured and neglected animals, is such a monumental task that it's difficult to focus time and effort into the all-important task of communications. Stardust Animal Sanctuary in Northwestern Illinois solved this problem by turning the task of creating and maintaining their monthly newsletter over to Vegan Street Media. We share tales of the beautiful animals, dedicated volunteers and other goings-on as well as recipes, health tips, a message from the Director and more. The text is written by us, and we also provide the graphic imagery and layout as well as the technical support on sending the newsletter out. Article Generation
Flow Farm is a veganic farm (organic, but also grown without any animal inputs like manure or bone char). It is the passionate avocation of longtime vegan Mark Epstein, and his story was fascinating enough that it needed to be shared. Marla interviewed Mark and his staff and created a moving article that was published in the magazine Health Science.
